After a successful 6 months freelancing abroad in Greece, I returned to Cape Town. Inspired by the beauty and simplicity of Mediterranean trends, I was inspired to create my own online jewellery store, Thira Jewellery.
I launched my online jewellery store amidst the first Covid lockdown in 2020. Thira has since grown significantly in a very short period of time. Thira is the ancient name for Santorini, with a double meaning of ‘doorway’ or ‘entrance’. With this in mind, I came up with the tagline ‘Step Inside’.
I have designed and created everything myself from scratch, from the logo, website, packaging, jewellery and photography. Thira’s jewellery is manufactured in our workshop in the small town of East London in South Africa, as well as outsourced from suppliers around the world.
