Student Work

THE BRIEF | Design 3 Books, all with a correlating theme.

THE IDEA | The books were all chosen because of their correlating theme of failed love stories. Romeo and Juliet never ended up together, Gatsby never ended up with Daisy and Jane Eyre's struggle with having fallen in love with someone in a different class of society, leaving their relationship unobtainable. The fonts appropriate to each period of time that the books were written or set in, this was to help develop a personality for each book. The overall look and feel was clean to allow the design to be fully appreciated. Simple singular line illustrations combined with pastel watercolors were used. These illustrations were strategically selected from various points in the book before being combined together to help portray the development of the entire book.

Essentially, creating a visual synopsis.
